The Transfer: A Divergent Story by: Veronica Roth | Website | Twitter Publication Date: September 24, 2013 Publisher: Katherine Tegen Books Series: Divergent #0.1 |
Summary: More Four! Fans of the Divergent series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Veronica Roth will be thrilled by "The Transfer," the first of four new short stories told from Four’s perspective. Each brief story explores the world of the Divergent series through the eyes of the mysterious but charismatic Tobias Eaton, revealing previously unknown facets of his personality, backstory, and relationships. Summary from goodreads.
| Why the WOW:
When I first read about these e-novellas on Veronica Roth's blog, I think there might have been a fist pump, followed by goofy smiling. I am beyond excited to read about Four! Last year's Free Four was a little nugget of Four, and I can't wait for more of his voice, history, and thoughts. There will be four e-novellas after its all said and done. The Transfer, The Initiate, The Son, and The Traitor. Each are listed as 30 pages each, but what I'm assuming is a paperback onmibus of all four (Four: A Divergent Story Collection, Feb. 11, 2014) is listed as having 208 pages? I don't know if my math skills are working properly. (30 x 4 = 208 ???) More bonus material? Yes, please! In other Divergent news…Have you guys seen the stills from the movie? And the first footage will be shown at Comic Con. Can't wait for this movie!

| Who got a crazy smile, checking instagram at work this morning? Me! This just means we're that much closer to the actual release! Thank you Epicreads instagram! I wasn't sure about it with with the blue background, but on white it looks good. The first thing I noticed was the airport. It's Chicago, how could we not venture to O'Hare? The water keeps the classic elements going, with fire (Divergent) and earth (Insurgent). | |

= best weekend ever | ||||
So this weekend I'm hitting the fandom trifecta. I'll be seeing The Host, while coming out on Friday, on Saturday morning. Very excited to see how this translates to the screen. The previews and trailers get me in fan-girl mode every time they come on. (This could be because of the awesome music, that is the key to any good trailer, watch the 127 Hours trailer) Clocking in over 2 hours, it seems that the producers tried to cover a lot of the 600+ page book.
Next in line, GoT. The wait for each 10 episodes is ridiculous, but so good when they get here! Can't wait to see all that happens. Ready for some dragon action, that we've only been leading up to for two seasons. At the end of this TV season, I'm making myself pick up the actual source material. Hopefully that will hold me over on the long break.
While other's maybe starting, one is ending...The Walking Dead season finale is also on Sunday. Predictions: The Governor will live to see season 4, Tyreese and Sasha will switch to the Prison group, Milton might die (don't want to see him go, but I see some sort of heroic action that puts him in the line of fire). Either way, got to get the last of my zombie fix until October. I do have the graphic novel on hold from my local library, once again to hold me over!
Big weekend plans?

Divergent movie - four's casting

This made my weekend! I might of fangirled a little when I saw Veronica Roth's blog entry, just the title. Took a deep breath, said a little prayer, and clicked the post. What a relief, I'm very happy about the casting of Theo James. I was getting a littler nervous leading up to this reveal, considering who else was in the running. Although I will always picture Drew Roy, of Falling Sky's fame, as my book Four. Theo James actually resembles Drew Roy, so I'm happy. Now we're just waiting for Divergent #3 title and cover...Anyday now would be nice! Until then I still like to look at the teaser cover in awe. Just seeing a date is awesome! |
